There’s Riches In Niches
The podcasting landscape is becoming noisy and very crowded, but there is still a lot of money to be made in podcasting, if that’s your goal, you just need to find your niche. My first podcast, It’s No Secret with Dr T. is aimed at small business and marketing and this is a very broad, busy genre and I have found it really difficult to get traction, however my second show, the Podiatry Legends Podcast is aimed at podiatrists, 100%, is consistently getting triple the downloads. This has equated to speaking invitations, increased coaching and mentoring and also interest from various companies in regards to sponsorship because I’m speaking to a very niche group and I speak their language. So this begs the question, are you going to broad with your podcast? Are you trying to bite off more than you can chew and would you be better to focus on a genre you know really well?
